Meet Mrs. Leduc
About Me: Hello, everyone! My name is Taylor Leduc and I am the language arts teacher on Team Discovery at Stony Brook Middle School. I live in Ayer with my husband and our 1 1/2 year old daughter, Everly (baby leduc #2 due in March!). Reading and writing are two of my strongest passions, and I consider it a privilege that I get to share these passions with my students everyday. As with every year, I look forward to also learning from my students and seeing what this year has in store!
My Education: After graduating from Chelmsford High School in 2008, I attended Rivier University where I earned a degree in elementary/special education. In 2012, I returned to Rivier University to earn an M.Ed in Reading and Writing.
Why I Became a Teacher: I believe a part of me always knew I was going to be a teacher. Since I was a child, I always felt drawn to the creativity and discovery that takes place in the classroom. Throughout my years as a student, I was blessed with wonderful teachers who came alongside me; they coached me through my failures and celebrated by successes. I believe in our future, and I want to invest in my students so that they may enter the world with confidence. I want to provide my students with a basis and a respect for learning and curiosity that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
My Interests/Hobbies: I'm a self-proclaimed interior designer. I love helping other people organize and decorate their homes. On the weekends, much of my time is spent exploring new places, whether hiking in nature or paying visit to tourist attractions in nearby towns. Though I'm not about to open my own bakery, I have a few staple "sweet treats" that are often requested at family gatherings. Whether organizing, exploring, or baking I always have music on to accompany my interests.
Fun Facts: My favorite season is Fall, impart to the debut of pumpkin spice each year. I'm terrified of clowns and escalators (imagine if I saw a clown ON an escalator!). In 6th grade, I reached my full height of 5 ft 3 inches. In high school, I was voted most organized in my graduating class. I LOVE plants, the low-maintenance kind that are difficult to kill. I still find extreme joy in reading children's books, and my favorite color is yellow.
